Woodland football's Tim Shea resigns

Tim Shea

Tim Shea has resigned as Woodland’s football coach, multiple reports confirmed Friday.

The news was first reported by Woodland Regional’s student media via its Twitter account and confirmed by alumnus and Republican-American reporter Kyle Brennan.

Shea had been with the Valley program since its inception in 2002, first as an assistant under Chris Anderson, then as head coach beginning in 2008.

As head coach, Shea was 44-25 with three state playoff appearances in six seasons, including a berth in the Class S championship last year. Woodland lost to Ansonia 55-12.

His only losing season was his first, a 4-7 record in 2008. Woodland never won less than six games for the remainder of his tenure.

Shea will coach with Team Constitution in the Super 100 All-Star game in June. Here’s the updated list of coaching vacancies and changes during the 2013-14 offseason:
