Anderson, who started the Woodland program and won state championships with the Hawks in 2004 and 2005, was in the first year of his second stint as head coach. The Hawks went 7-3, but missed out on a Class S playoff berth following a season-ending loss to Seymour. Overall, Anderson is 56-24 as Woodland coach.
He is the second-consecutive coach to leave the program after one year. Tim Phipps, one of his former assistants, left for Hopkins after coaching the Hawks to a 4-7 record in 2014.
